Mohammad Hatta was an Indonesian nationalist leader, statesman, and politician who served as the first Vice President of Indonesia. He was a key figure in the Indonesian National Revolution and is considered one of the "founding fathers" of the Republic of Indonesia. Hatta was known by the nickname "The Proclamator" because he was one of the two men who signed the Indonesian Declaration of Independence on August 17, 1945.
