Answer
Mohammad Mosaddegh, the Prime Minister of Iran, was imprisoned for 3 years for his role in the 1953 Iranian coup d'état. After his prison term ended, he was kept under house arrest until his death in 1967. Mosaddegh's house arrest was a way for the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, to prevent Mosaddegh from returning to power and to silence his opposition to the Shah's rule.
