Answer
Commander Pedro Antonio Giroldi was a leader in the failed 1989 coup d'état against Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega. Giroldi was born in Panama City in 1947. He joined the Panamanian National Guard in 1967 and quickly rose through the ranks. In 1988, he was appointed commander of the First Infantry Battalion, which was responsible for guarding Noriega. Giroldi became increasingly disillusioned with Noriega's regime and began plotting to overthrow him.
