One of the key people in taking forward Mordecai Kaplan's principles was his son-in-law, Rabbi Ira Eisenstein. Eisenstein was a student of Kaplan's at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, and he went on to become a professor of Talmud and Jewish philosophy at the seminary. Eisenstein was also a prolific writer, and he published several books and articles on Jewish theology and history.
