Moshe Katsav (Hebrew: משה קצב) is an Israeli former politician and the 8th President of Israel. He served as President from 2000 to 2007. Katsav was born in the city of Yazd, Iran. His family immigrated to Israel when he was a young child. He served in the Israel Defense Forces and later studied law. He became a successful lawyer and politician. In 2000, he was elected President of Israel.
