Mswati III's mother is Queen Ntfombi Tfwala. She is the current Queen Mother of Eswatini and the former Queen Regent. She was born in 1948 and married King Sobhuza II in 1967. They had five children together, including Mswati III. After King Sobhuza's death in 1986, Queen Ntfombi became Queen Regent until Mswati III was crowned king in 1988.
