While Ibn Abd al-Wahhab was greatly inspired by the works of scholars such as Ibn Taymiyya, Ibn Qayyim, and Ibn Hanbal, he was not influenced by the teachings of Al-Ghazali. Ibn Abd al-Wahhab's focus on the doctrine of Tawhid and his opposition to certain religious practices were more in line with the ideas of the former scholars.
