Juristic matters were one of the areas that al-Tabari continued to develop ideas in until the end of his life. He wrote a number of books on the subject, including "The Book of Jurisprudence" and "The Book of Legal Maxims". In these works, he discussed a wide range of legal issues, including the rights and obligations of Muslims, the laws of inheritance, and the rules of war.
