Nishan-i-Imtiaz is an honorary award bestowed by the government of Pakistan in recognition of the contributions to the country. It is one of the highest honours that can be bestowed by the Pakistani government. Khan was awarded the Nishan-i-Imtiaz in 2008 for his contributions to the film industry. He is the first Pakistani actor to receive the award.
