Answer
Little is known about Nabonidus’s father, Nabu-balatsu-iqbi. He was a governor in the city of Harran, located in modern-day Turkey. Some historical texts refer to him as a “nobody,” suggesting that he may have come from a humble background. Despite his father's obscurity, Nabonidus rose to become the last king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire, reigning from 556 to 539 BCE.
