Answer
The Unionist Party was a political party in the United Kingdom that existed from 1886 to 1922. It was formed by a merger of the Conservative Party and the Liberal Unionist Party, and was led by Lord Salisbury. The party supported the Union of Great Britain and Ireland, and opposed Home Rule for Ireland. In 1922, the Unionist Party merged with the Conservative Party to form the present-day Conservative Party.
