In 2014, Naoya Inoue held the WBC light-flyweight title. This was a significant accomplishment for Inoue, as it was his first world title. He had previously won the Japanese and OPBF light-flyweight titles, but the WBC title was the first major championship he had won. Inoue successfully defended the WBC title four times before moving up in weight class.
