Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a Lebanese-American academic, essayist, and mathematical statistician who is best known for his work on probability, risk, and uncertainty. He is the author of the best-selling books The Black Swan and Fooled by Randomness, which have been translated into over 30 languages. Taleb was a Distinguished Professor of Risk Engineering at New York University Tandon School of Engineering from 2005 to 2010.
