Nguyễn Ngọc Thơ was the first Vice President of South Vietnam. He was a member of the Hòa Hảo religious group, and was appointed by President Ngô Đình Diệm in 1955. Thơ was a controversial figure, and was accused of corruption and nepotism. He was dismissed by Diệm in 1964, and died in 1967.
