He started his career in Japan with JEF United Ichihara Chiba before moving to France to play for Paris Saint-Germain. He then had spells with Portuguese clubs Vitória de Guimarães and Belenenses, Paraguayan club Club Guaraní, Brazilian club Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, and American club Chicago Fire.
