Olaf Stapledon was an English writer, philosopher and futurist. He was also a university professor, teaching philosophy and classics at the University of Liverpool. He is best known for his works of science fiction, including the novels "Last and First Men" (1930), "Star Maker" (1937), and "The World, the Flesh and the Devil" (1932).
