Om Birla has been an MP for 10 years since 2014. He was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 2014 from the Kota constituency in Rajasthan. He was re-elected in 2019 from the same constituency. In 2019, he was elected as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, making him the presiding officer of the lower house of the Indian Parliament.
