The Duchy of Swabia was not under Otto the Great's rule because it was ruled by a separate family. Otto the Great was the first Holy Roman Emperor and he ruled over the Holy Roman Empire from 936 to 973. He was a member of the Ottonian dynasty and he was the son of Henry I the Fowler.
