Pablo Casado first entered politics in 2005. He joined the People's Party (PP) and was elected as a municipal councilor in his hometown of Palencia. In 2007, he was elected to the regional parliament of Castile and León, where he served as a deputy until 2011. In 2011, he was elected to the Spanish Congress of Deputies, where he has served as a deputy ever since.
