Answer
The Communist Party of Italy (PCd'I) was founded in 1921 as the Italian section of the Communist International. It was originally called the Italian Communist Party (PCI), but changed its name to PCd'I in 1926 to avoid being banned by the fascist government of Benito Mussolini. The party was led by Antonio Gramsci from its foundation until his arrest in 1926.
