Patricia Brennan did not receive any posthumous awards. Brennan died of cancer in 1991, and in 1992 she was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame. Brennan is credited with the invention of the disposable contact lens, which made contact lenses more affordable and accessible for the general public.
