Answer
Paul Lauterbur shared his Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2003 with Peter Mansfield for his work on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). MRI is a non-invasive medical imaging technique that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of the inside of the body. Lauterbur and Mansfield developed the mathematical principles behind MRI, which allowed for the development of this important medical imaging technique.
