The Colorado Avalanche drafted Paul Stastny in the second round (45th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Stastny played four seasons with the Avalanche, recording 144 points (45 goals and 99 assists) in 253 games before being traded to the Quebec Nordiques, where he played for the remainder of his NHL career.
