Peter Steele, best known for his role as lead singer and bassist for the American heavy metal band Type O Negative, also created a thrash metal band called Carnivore. The band released two studio albums, Carnivore (1985) and Retaliation (1987), before disbanding in 1987. Steele would later return to Type O Negative, which would release several more albums before his death in 2010.
