Philip Noel-Baker was a British athlete and politician who won the 1924 Olympic 1500 metres gold medal. He was a Labour Party Member of Parliament from 1929 to 1970 and served as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs from 1947 to 1951. Noel-Baker was also a Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1959 for his work in promoting disarmament.
