Vyshcha Liha, or the Higher League, is the top professional football league in Ukraine. It was established in 1992 as the successor to the Ukrainian Premier League and became a member of the Professional Football League of Ukraine in 1996. Vyshcha Liha consists of 16 teams, with the winner qualifying for the UEFA Champions League and the second and third-placed teams qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.
