The University of Moral and Political Sciences (UMPS) was founded in 1933 as a part of the Ministry of Education, with the aim of educating civil servants and politicians. Pridi Banomyong, the first Prime Minister of Thailand, was a key figure in the founding of UMPS and served as its first rector.
