Answer
Primo Carnera became the World Heavyweight Champion in 1933. He was the first Italian to hold the title and he won it by defeating Jack Sharkey. Carnera was a large man, standing at 6'6" and weighing 287 pounds. He was known for his powerful punching and his ability to knock out his opponents. Carnera's reign as champion was short-lived, however, as he was defeated by Max Baer in 1934.
