Prince George, Duke of Cambridge, died on 17 March 1904. He was the third son of King George III and Queen Charlotte, and the younger brother of King William IV and King Edward VII. Prince George was a career soldier and served in the British Army for over 50 years. He was also the Governor General of Canada from 1869 to 1872.
