Answer
The Antigonids were a dynasty of Macedonian kings that ruled from 306 BC to 168 BC. They were founded by Antigonus I Monophthalmus, one of the Diadochi (successors of Alexander the Great). The Antigonids were the primary adversaries of the Ptolemaic dynasty of Egypt during the reign of Ptolemy III. The two dynasties fought a series of wars over control of the eastern Mediterranean.
