Born in Leptis Magna, also called Lepcis Magna, a city on the Mediterranean coast of present-day Libya, Geta was the younger son of Emperor Septimius Severus. He was born on the 27th of May 189 AD. His mother, Julia Domna, was a Syrian Arab. Getae brother was Caracalla. Geta shared the title of Augustus of the Roman Empire from 209 AD until his assassination in 211 AD.
