The Jiaqing Emperor was the seventh emperor of the Qing dynasty. He was the only son of the Qianlong Emperor and Empress Xiaoxiangren. He succeeded the Qianlong Emperor in 1796 and ruled until his death in 1820. During his reign, the Qing dynasty experienced a period of decline.
