Ramush Haradinaj first served as the Prime Minister of Kosovo in 2004. He was a member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), which fought for the independence of Kosovo from Serbia. He was elected prime minister in October 2004, but resigned in March 2005 after being indicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) for war crimes. He was acquitted of all charges in 2012.
