Answer
Turkey is the only country that recognizes the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as an independent state. The TRNC is a de facto state that declared independence in 1983, but it is not recognized by the United Nations or any other country besides Turkey. The international community considers the TRNC to be part of the Republic of Cyprus.
