On May 27, 1942, Reinhard Heydrich, a high-ranking Nazi official and the Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia, was critically injured in Prague by an assassination attempt carried out by Czech and Slovak agents trained and equipped by the British Special Operations Executive. Heydrich succumbed to his injuries on June 4, 1942.
