René Clair was born as René-Lucien Chomette on 11 November 1898 in France. He was a French film director, screenwriter and actor who was active from the 1920s until the 1970s. He is considered one of the pioneers of the French cinema. His most famous works include "A nous la liberté" (1931), "The Ghost Goes West" (1935) and "The Rules of the Game" (1939).
