Mohamed Naguib was born in Cairo, Egypt on January 15, 1901. He was an Egyptian army officer and politician who served as the first President of Egypt from 1952 to 1953. Naguib was a member of the Free Officers Movement, which overthrew the Egyptian monarchy in 1952. He served as President until 1953, when he was overthrown by Gamal Abdel Nasser.
