Richie Farmer was a Kentucky basketball icon before he became a politician. He played for the Wildcats from 1992 to 1996, and he was a two-time All-American. He was also the SEC Player of the Year in 1996. After college, Farmer played professional basketball in Europe for several years. He then returned to Kentucky and served as an assistant coach for the Wildcats from 2006 to 2010.
