Richard Steven Valenzuela, known professionally as Ritchie Valens, was an American singer and guitarist. He was a pioneer of the Chicano rock and roll movement and is considered one of the most influential musicians of the 1950s. Valens' most famous songs include "La Bamba" and "Donna". He died in a plane crash in 1959 at the age of 17, along with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper.
