The Brownsea Island Camp was a camp held by Robert Baden-Powell, 1st Baron Baden-Powell, that started the Scout movement. It was held on Brownsea Island, in Dorset, England, in August 1907. Baden-Powell, who was an Army officer, invited 22 boys to the camp to test out his ideas for a new type of youth organization.
