Robert Bárány did not teach at a university. He received his medical degree from the University of Vienna in 1887, but he did not have a teaching position at any university. He was a practicing physician, and he also conducted research on hearing and balance. In 1914, he won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work on the vestibular system.
