Who succeeded Robert Menzies as Prime Minister in 1966?

  • Joseph Lyons

  • John McEwen

  • Harold Holt

Answer

Harold Holt succeeded Robert Menzies as Prime Minister in 1966. Holt had previously served as Treasurer in the Menzies government and had been a member of the Liberal Party since the 1930s. He was a popular and successful Prime Minister, but his tenure was cut short when he disappeared while swimming in the ocean near Portsea, Victoria, in December 1967.
