Prior to his appointment as Deputy Attorney General, Rod Rosenstein served as the United States Attorney for the District of Maryland from 2005 to 2017. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing all federal criminal prosecutions in the state of Maryland, as well as representing the United States in civil litigation.
