Rod Laver was born on August 9, 1938 in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. He is a former professional tennis player who is widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time. Laver won a total of 20 Grand Slam singles titles, including a record 11 consecutive titles from 1962 to 1969. He was also the first man to win the calendar Grand Slam twice, in 1962 and 1969.
