After leaving the Boston Braves, Hornsby played for the Chicago Cubs. He was traded to the Cubs in 1926 and played for them until 1932. He was a very successful player for the Cubs, winning the National League MVP Award in 1929 and leading the league in batting average in 1928 and 1929. He was also inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1942.
