Yes, Sacagawea was a Native American. She was a Lemhi Shoshone woman who was born in what is now Idaho. She was captured by the Hidatsa tribe when she was young and was later sold to French-Canadian fur trader Toussaint Charbonneau. She traveled with Charbonneau and the Lewis and Clark Expedition from 1804 to 1806.
