Eski Saray, or the Old Palace, was a palace in Istanbul that was used by the Ottoman sultans from 1453 to 1853. It was built by Mehmed II the Conqueror, and was the first palace built in Istanbul after the conquest of the city. Mehmed III left a treasure of one billion akçe for Safiye Sultan to use, and this treasure was kept in the Eski Saray.
