Ghoddos switched his national team allegiance to Iran in 2017. Prior to this, he had represented Sweden at the youth international level. Ghoddos made his senior debut for Iran in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Qatar in June 2017. He has since gone on to make several appearances for the Iranian national team, including at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
