Sammy Mandell, born Samuel Mendlowitz, was a Jewish American professional wrestler who was a major draw in the 1930s and 1940s. He was known for his acrobatic moves and his high-flying style of wrestling. Mandell also had a strong following in the Jewish community, and he was often referred to as "The Rockford Sheik". He was inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1995.
