Samuel Goldwyn was a founding contributor of motion picture studios in Hollywood. He was a Polish-born American film producer and executive who was a key figure in the development of the Hollywood studio system in the early 20th century. Goldwyn founded the Goldwyn Company in 1916, which later merged with United Artists in 1924. He also co-founded Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1927 with Louis B. Mayer and Irving Thalberg.
